In order to ensure the quality standards that consumer's demand and deserve are obtained, San José Farms produces, harvests, and packages all its fruits according to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and HACCP production regulations.

The objective of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)is to reduce the risk of microbes and germs that could damage the fruit, as well as maintaining hygiene during the cultivation process, which specifically includes:

• Maintain the cultivated land clean, ensuring that there is no inadequate use of excrement as fertilizer as well as no access of animals amongst the plantations.
• Analyze the water from time to time which is used for irrigation of the plantations.
• Ensure personal hygiene for the staff that harvest the fruit, especially with regards to hand protection and in general protection from any possible point of contact with the fruit.
• Maintain all surfaces clean where the harvested fruit passes, as well as all surfaces used for packing the fruit, ensuring that they are cleaned on a daily basis.

The HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) corresponds to the system for controlling the processes that allow for the identification of what stage a fruit may become infected, and it establishes certain rigorous preventative actions to ensure no diseases can permeate.

San José Farms, with its years of experience in the production of berries, has been approved and legitimized by both types of certificate, for the production of blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and redcurrants.
